One of the features that makes this program so unique is that rather than just focusing on what’s wrong with you or what needs fixing, we focus on building and strengthening what’s right in you, what’s healthy and good. Sometimes when we are stuck in our fears and worries we lose our sense of confidence to rise above challenges. This program shows you how to harness your hidden personal strengths and cultivate your inner powers for well-being.
How Does This Approach Differ From Others
Unlike other approaches that treat the symptoms of anxiety, panic and stress, who may suggest that you distract yourself from your thoughts and feelings to “get over it and move on”, our program will show you that the first step to overcoming anxiety and panic is not to distract yourself at all, but instead to learn to get comfortable with your fearful and worrisome thoughts and feelings!
Now you are probably wondering how will I ever feel comfortable with these horrible feelings and why do I need to do this anyway? Because as you will learn in this program, you can’t control what you feel in life, you can only control what you do with what you feel. Running away from your feelings or trying to numb them out is at the root of anxiety, stress and panic.

Who am I to make this claim and how can I be so confident?
My name is Claire Maisonneuve and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. For over 20 years as Director of the Alpine Anxiety and Stress Relief Clinic I have helped thousands of people, both one on one and in groups achieve relief from their symptoms.
My unique and innovative counseling approach addresses stress, anxiety and panic from a mind, body and spiritual perspective. It combines the following elements:

- unique training in Body Centered Therapy
- some of the latest and best researched psychological methods
- practical wisdom derived from 25 years of meditation practice and working with the breath

Just note
This is *not* a quick fix program. If you want to discover the best ways for overcoming symptoms of anxiety, panic and stress, I need 8 weeks to take you through the process and show you how, and you will need 8 weeks to implement the strategies put forth with the right kind of effort. If you attend the 8 weeks and follow all the steps, you’ll see results. Results that will be sure to last a lifetime.
Program Structure
Each class is divided into three parts. In the first third of the class we practice the two foundational skills of the program, which includes the breathing practices lying on the floor on a mat. Then the meditation practice, which we do sitting in a chair.
The second part is the main lecture in which I expand on the different reasons why we suffer from anxiety, stress and panic, specifically what it takes to be free from these difficult states of mind and teach you a variety of skills to help you heal.
The final part of the class is a chance to ask questions, clarifications or share some of your own experiences with the methods. Sharing is always optional.
This is not a therapy group but rather it is a program to help you acquire very specific strategies that you can use right away to help you heal.
Participants are asked to make a committed effort to attend all 8 classes and must be willing to dedicate 15 to 30 minutes daily to practice the skills taught in the class.
