Meghan Kennedy MA., RSW

Sometimes strong feelings and emotions can be difficult and overwhelming to deal with. It can be even more difficult to open up to someone about your experiences and take the first step towards healing. In my practice, I hold a space for you where you can feel safe to share your feelings without judgement and with compassion and kindness.  My approach is strengths based and goal orientated and is guided by modalities and principles including:

  • CBT
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
  • Trauma Informed Care
  • Harm Reduction
  • Mindfulness.

I have a Masters of Social Work from Ireland with 8 years experience supporting children, youth, adults and families. However, much of my experience is working with adolescents between 13- 19 and I believe that I have a unique ability to build strong and trusting relationships with youth in this age range. I have experience working with clients presenting with a wide variety needs including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Suicidality
  • Substance use
  • Grief and loss
  • Stress and burn out
  • Coping and adjustment to a chronic health diagnosis
  • Chronic pain

I consider my greatest strength to be my ability to meet each of my client’s needs by building trust and rapport. I am passionate about helping you obtain life skills, which encourage independence and autonomy. I will help you build your ‘emotional toolkit’ and offer you positive strategies and techniques to help cope with your emotions on a daily basis so you can begin your healing journey.
