Isabelle St-Jean, RSW, PCC, RTC

Languages: English and French

Originally from Montreal, I have been a passionate counsellor and therapist for over 25 years and a professional certified life coach for two decades. And with yearly professional development, I keep integrating new modalities, knowledge and skills into my practice. For example, this year I trained in Forest Therapy, and plan to initiate programs in this in 2026. Meanwhile, my keen observations and love of nature fosters an ability to draw from its wisdom in both practical and inspiring ways in sessions.
My approach is to supportively walk alongside my clients as they navigate through difficult life transitions, grief, anxiety, burnout or other forms of adversity. And as initial trust deepens, we gently and non-judgmentally explore inner barriers, limiting beliefs, dysfunctional patterns or defense mechanisms that tend to impede the realization of their heart’s desires.
My unique, custom-tailored style includes introspection and transformative exercises leading to a more relaxed nervous system, a reconnection with your own inner small voice, and expansive ways of thinking and being. What’s more, I usually provide practical resources and tools that you can proactively integrate into your self-care to improve your wellbeing and the quality of your life.

My therapeutic skills draw on studies and training in:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Brainspotting
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Coherence Therapy
  • Gestalt Therapy
  • Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
  • Emotional Freedom Technique  (EFT)
  • Relational Somatic Therapy
  • Trauma Informed Therapies
  • Mindfulness
  • Coaching

I work with a wide range of individuals who struggle with:

  • Anxiety related disorders
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Relationship Issues
  • Major Life Transitions
  • Retirement Issues
  • Midlife Issues
  • Business/Professional Challenges
  • Workplace challenges

Aside from being a Registered Social Worker, a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, a Professional Certified Coach (with International Coach Federation accreditation), and a Certified Retirement Coach, I’m also a published author.

My book (2008) is titled Living Forward Giving Back: A Practical Guide to Fulfilment in Midlife and Beyond.  I was also the initiator and co-author of two award-winning anthologies:  Einstein’s Business: Engaging Soul, Imagination and Excellence in the Workplace and Audacious Aging.  As a former member of the BC Human Resources Management Association, I contributed years of knowledge to HR professionals through the publication of over 30 articles in the PeopleTalk magazine.

Finally, I am also a caring consultant in the lives of my young adult children who are now 25 and 28.

Dear Isabelle

You are kind,  a good listener and a very professional and knowledgeable person. It was hard for me to connect with someone, but I found out that you are the one that I can trust, that cares and whom I can rely on my healing journey.  You have taught me, good techniques to calm down myself when hard feelings come to me and I am already feeling better. Thanks for your dedication and your patience and your kind heart. N.H.
