Alex Durian MA., RCC

My goal is to create space for you to honour who you are, where you come from and what you’ve been through. With the right support, you can develop a greater sense of calm so you can make choices that bring more joy and pride into your daily life, including relationships.

I’m here to help you find those missing pieces. As we sit together, we’ll explore your experiences in depth and identify patterns that no longer serve you. We’ll work on shifting your responses to difficult situations so you can build a better connection to self, while also strengthening your connection to others.

For more than five years, I have worked in public health helping people struggling with mental health concerns. Now, I have spent two years shifting to direct individual counselling. I have seen first hand the long-term benefits of counselling, myself, when I began as a client in my youth. The lifelong lessons I learned didn’t shape me: They helped me shape myself into who I wanted to be, and to live the life I wanted. That’s why I’m excited about this work. I am dedicated to helping my clients overcome their barriers through a collection of perspectives and techniques, and my hope is to empower them to reclaim the parts of them they once enjoyed.

Especially in these times, you may feel there’s an underlying feeling of loneliness and isolation that seems to follow you wherever you go. You may long for deeper connection in your relationships, but you just can’t seem to find the right people or circles where you feel at ease. No matter how hard you try, it feels like there’s something missing. But even by reading this, you’ve taken a step forward. Let’s keep that momentum going, and move even further forward together.
