My Approach

Clients often describe my approach as warm and supportive. I am deeply passionate about guiding individuals, couples, and families towards growth and self-discovery. My work is rooted in building a profound connection between all parts of our being – our physical body, emotional body, mind, and spirit. Drawing upon the wisdom of the body, I strive to create balance among these elements to foster a sense of wholeness – an approach inherent to integrative and somatic therapy.

Recognizing that our bodies may bear the imprints of past experiences and believing in the power of emotions as messengers, I am certified in both Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). This dual certification equips me to guide my clients through the process of changing how they hold their past.

I also incorporate evidence-based approaches into my work. Mindfulness-based Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and narrative therapy are all integral parts of my practice. These approaches provide valuable tools and strategies for managing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, facilitating personal growth and positive change.

As an expressive Art therapy practitioner, I understand the transformative potential of creative expression. I believe in the innate creativity within each individual and the power of movement and artistic mediums to unlock self-expression and self-realization.

Couples:

Working with couples is a particular passion of mine. Relationships are a vital resource for growth, and I am dedicated to helping couples navigate challenges, rebuild trust, and foster healthy and fulfilling connections. I specialize in working with Attachment-based Interventions for couples in crisis, addressing relationship issues, moving past the trauma of betrayal and infidelity, marriage, and divorce.

Families:

I also value working with families and am certified in emotionally focused family therapy (EFFT), where we restore connection, unlock emotional expression, and transform negative patterns of interaction within the family system.

I also have expertise in supporting Parenting Neurodivergent Youth in Social Emotional and Regulation Strategies (ADD, ADHD)

Areas of Expertise:

My practice encompasses a wide range of issues and demographics. I work with individuals, couples, and families, offering support for concerns such as relationship issues, life transitions, trauma, ADHD, ADD, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations, body image, loss and grief.

I am passionate about providing a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ individuals and couples and have expertise in working with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Who I am

I am Nogol, a multi-cultural individual, shaped by two cultures, two worlds. I embarked on my journey from Iran to Canada by myself, facing many challenges and making numerous choices to deal with these challenges – each serving as a stepping stone to my growth and resilience. These experiences kindled a deep understanding within me of life’s transitions, the healing process, and the powerful sway of emotions.

I value the wisdom of our bodies, the transformative power of support in our journeys, and our innate ability to reframe the way we relate to our past.

Before finding my path in counselling, I worked in the domain of immigration, offering consultation to over 600 individuals and couples as they navigated the emotional turmoil of the immigration process. My work was centered around helping them make sense of their strong emotions related to change, assisting them in finding a sense of belonging in their new world, and supporting their smooth transition.

In addition to my present training in a Master of Art in Counseling Psychology, I bring a diverse academic background to my practice. I hold an MBA with a focus on human motivation. Furthermore, I have undergone specialized trauma-informed training at Rhodes Wellness College to obtain my Professional Counsellor Diploma, Certified Wellness Counsellor, and Accredited Life Coach certificate.

I deeply value the process of therapy because it made a huge difference in my own life. I’ve been there, and I know it takes bravery to ask for support. Thank you for being here and reading about who I am. These sessions are for you, and I can’t wait to get to know you and start this precious process together.
