Sara Nahri MA, RCC, CCC

You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

I’m Sara Nahri, RCC, CCC, a bilingual counsellor with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals and couples through periods of emotional difficulty, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I offer counselling in both English and Farsi (Persian) and provide a warm, culturally responsive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel understood, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.

My approach is collaborative and individualized. I believe therapy should be tailored to your unique experiences, needs, values, and goals—not a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical tools for emotional regulation and coping, and build greater self-awareness, confidence, and connection.

My Therapeutic Approach
My practice integrates evidence-informed approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. I am also trained and certified in Clinical Trauma Professional practice and EFT.

Depending on your needs, therapy may focus on understanding thought and behaviour patterns, processing difficult experiences, strengthening emotional regulation, developing healthier boundaries, improving communication, or building more secure and fulfilling relationships.

Areas I Support
I work with adults and couples experiencing:

• Anxiety and depression.
• Trauma and complex life experiences.
• Grief, loss, and bereavement.
• ADHD-related challenges.
• Body image and self-esteem concerns.
• Relationship and communication difficulties.
• Couples and family-related concerns.
• Life transitions and major changes.
• Emotional regulation and coping.
• Suicidal thoughts and emotional distress.
• Stress, overwhelm, and burnout.
• Self-confidence, boundaries, and interpersonal patterns.

Individual & Couples Counselling

Individual Counselling:
Therapy can provide a space to better understand yourself, work through difficult emotions and experiences, strengthen self-esteem, and develop healthier ways of coping and relating to others.

Couples Counselling:
I work with couples who want to improve communication, rebuild emotional connection, navigate recurring conflict, understand relationship patterns, and develop a stronger and more secure partnership. Using an attachment-informed and Emotionally Focused approach, I help couples move beyond cycles of conflict and better understand the emotions and needs underneath them.

A Multicultural Perspective
As a bilingual and multicultural counsellor who has lived and worked across different cultural environments, I understand that our experiences of relationships, family, identity, emotions, and mental health are deeply influenced by culture and life experiences.
I bring cultural sensitivity, curiosity, and openness to my work and welcome clients from diverse cultural, linguistic, and personal backgrounds. For clients who prefer to express themselves in their first language, I offer sessions in Farsi (Persian) as well as English.
I believe that meaningful therapy begins with feeling safe enough to be yourself—and from there, creating the space to understand, heal, grow, and move forward.
